Growing up in South Carolina, you were one of two things, a Gamecock fan or a Clemson fan. I had the luck of having smart parents who gave me my first Clemson jersey when I was 7. Ever since, my interest in Clemson football has never ceased. Some say it's an unhealthy obsession, I say “ Hey bud, shut the hell up I'm watching the 2003 Clemson vs Georgia Tech game to see how we can win in Atlanta again.” I know I can't control the outcome of a game but hey, we finally won in Atlanta after I watched the game, so you tell me. After this year, I will be transferring up to Clemson where I can constantly fuel my “addiction” while studying to be a broadcast journalist.

I always wanted to be an NFL player, but 5'11 lineman normally don't get drafted, unless their name is Aaron Donald. Most likely I've already peaked in high school. I love all kinds of sports, but I write about FSU for Armchair, where I also attend school. Yes, Florida State is better than your favorite school in whatever sport you name (that includes water polo). Don't ever play me in Madden or 2k, otherwise, I'll put you to shame. I'm at tscheetos on Xbox, come at me. Follow me on twitter at @samtschida67 for hot football takes and other dumb tweets.

Ever since I was very young, I have lived and breathed Tar Heel sports. Born and raised in Chapel Hill, attending games at Kenan Stadium and the Smith Center have been huge parts of my life. I play sports as well. Growing up, I played football, basketball, and baseball. Now, at age 17, I am currently playing football for East Chapel Hill High School. I have currently written over 50 articles for armchair, and plan to continue writing more. Aside from sports, I love my family, my dog, and the beach. It should also be known that I am a very big Luke Maye supporter (and have been even BEFORE he made the game winner versus Kentucky).

Yes, my last name is Beard. Yes, I know I don’t have a Beard and probably never will because I still look like I’m five, people need to quit reminding of this. Two time little league all star and one time league champ. I am on the baseball team at Chatham University and I enjoy hosing dudes who think they can steal on me. I am a rare and endangered species, a native Floridian. That is probably why I am so hot. Follow me on twitter @chandler_beard4.

I have a passion for Jesus, sports, hip-hop, and comics (in that order). My parents grew up in Illinois, my mom in central Illinois and my dad near Chicago. Because of this, I am a diehard Chicago sports fan. I follow the Bulls, Blackhawks, Bears, White Sox, and the Fighting Illini almost religiously. My writing career started over at FanSided (which I loved), and that led me here. My family lived in Indianapolis for awhile, but just last year we moved out to Knoxville, TN. In the fall of this year, I will be attending Milligan College near Johnson City, TN, and I will be pursuing a double major in communications and Bible with a focus in pastoral ministry.

I have been a sports fan for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Chicago, I have been a fan of the Bulls, Cubs, and Bears my entire life. I went to the University of Iowa and quickly became obsessed with the Hawkeyes. I love writing and am fortunate to be able to write about my alma mater. Follow me on twitter @kenny_levine

Hi y’all! I am a Southern soul stuck in a Michigan girl’s body. One day I will escape these six month winters. But I have cherished every moment of growing up in Northern Michigan and attending a small high school where the morale of the town varies depending on the weather and how our sports teams are playing. I was raised in the maize and blue worshipping Tom Brady, Bo, and Charles Woodson. Every Fall Saturday began with me, my brothers, and my dad huddled in the living room watching College GameDay. We cheered on Michigan, Alabama (my younger brother is a bandwagoner), and any team playing Ohio State. And Sundays were designated to preventing my dad from having a heart attack while watching the Detroit Lions wait until the fourth quarter to actually play a game. In a nutshell, sports, to me, have always been extremely emotional and that’s why I became a fan.

Growing up I knew two things, I loved sports and I was a talented writer. With that in mind I set out to begin my career in sports journalism. As a lifelong fan of Spartan athletics, I decided to attend MSU and later graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism. My other sports passion is Detroit sports, specifically the Detroit Lions (still waiting to witness my first playoff win). Since graduating from MSU, I have had the opportunity to write for various publications including MLive and Detroit Sports Nation. I am now excited to join Armchair All Americans and help cover Michigan State recruiting. Besides sports, I enjoy playing video games and listening to all kinds of genres of rock music. I currently reside in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my wife Melissa.

My name is Kade Dohmen and I am a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I have been a member of Husker Nation since I can remember. Unfortunately my first experience at Memorial Stadium was ruined by Iowa State and eight turnovers, but that’s not important. It has been a long time coming since the years of Tom Osborne, but we have the guy now. Along with the Huskers, my fandom extends to the Los Angeles Chargers formerly known as San Diego, the Chicago Bulls, the Tampa Bay Rays and many others (I have a fan of a team in any league just ask). As always, Go Big Red.

I am recent graduate of The Ohio State University who is currently following his dream of sports writing. I was born in Wayne, New Jersey and played football in high school all four years. In college I stuck to intramural basketball. Although not much of a scorer, I liked to consider myself a real gritty “bring your lunch pale to work” power forward with playing style being described as a mix between Reggie Evans and Rick Mahorn. I am a lifelong Denver Broncos and New York Yankees fan, a skeptical yet optimistic New Orleans Pelicans fan, and above all else a die hard Ohio State fan. @DSmythTheMyth18

In life, I always apply one simple principle: Be nice to people and they will be nice to you. This is sometimes a problem because I am a huge follower of the New York sports teams and the Miami Hurricanes. While the final team does not make sense, I’ll let you know that they were my first sports team that I followed and have stuck with them ever since. This longtime connection is a sign of my loyalty which now show for Penn State. Firm believer in the message of James Harrison and participation medals. It’s always good to be nice to me, which is hard when you come from the Jersey Shore.

My name’s James King, and I’m a 22-year-old Sports Journalism major at the almighty Rutgers University. I’m from central New Jersey (yes it exists) right on the beach in a town called Neptune. I grew up playing baseball and football, but being 5’7” and deficient of speed doesn’t get you much after high school graduation. My passion for sports and obvious deep love for keyboards has brought me to this lovely place here. I bleed green for my beloved New York Jets (it will sound good one day, just wait). The Boston Celtics and Red Sox hold the other two-thirds of my sports heart. With that said, you can usually find me kicked back somewhere with a brew giving my usually disagreeable sports opinions.

My name is Jakob Brandenburg and I’m a senior journalism major at Baylor University. I’ve witnessed it all during my time in Waco. A miraculous 21-point fourth quarter comeback to beat TCU in 2014. An equally miraculous, but much more disappointing, blown 21-point fourth quarter lead against Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl that same year. I’ve stormed the field after winning a Big 12 Championship, and broadcast games from the radio booth as the Bears have fought their way to an 0-8 record (at the time of writing this. It can still get worse.) Through it all, I’ve been assured that there is nothing I’d rather be doing than working in sports media. Every time I walk into an arena or stadium on game day, I fall in love all over again and am humbled to cover the sports we love, and tell the stories of the athletes that make them great.

Throughout my childhood, I was never much of an athlete nor did I watch many sports. Although I participated in practically every sport you could think of, I was never good at any. Throughout high school I struggled with finding my passion, I never truly knew what I wanted to go to school for but I knew for a fact I wanted to be at the University of Kansas. Being a Jayhawk was a dream of mine since childhood and I never even considered going anywhere else. Finally, midway through my senior year of high school I found my passion, writing. I was in an English class where we wrote an autobiography and it was at that moment I knew what I wanted to become, a sports journalist. I graduated high school and eventually moved to Lawrence, Kansas where I now major in both Journalism and Sports Management. Despite never taking any journalism courses in high school, I have found my passion and my dream job. I love writing about all sorts of things, namely Kansas Football, basketball and I even do some writing about music. As I child I never expected to be where I am today, but now I hope to use ArmChair as a way to branch out into the world and make connections. For now, I hope to continue expanding myself and develop as a writer.

Hello, my name is Jack Densmore. I grew up as a kid watching the Alabama Crimson Tide with my dad, who basically introduced me into the sports world. As I grew up, I fell in love with the NFL and the Houston Texans, as well as other sports including basketball, baseball, hockey, and snowboarding. Other sports I’ve watched before, but those aren’t too interesting to me. As a kid, I played pee wee football and I was an offensive lineman/defensive lineman, basically it was given to me because I was the tallest kid. Afterwards, I didn’t feel like playing football anymore and ran for cross country for my middle school for a year. Short story, I was an average runner. Eventually, I joined the journalism world, and I’d rather write about the athletes than be an athlete, because they can do it better than me by a long shot.

Hey guys, my name’s Max Cohen. I’m a huge Arizona sports fan. I love the Wildcats, Diamondbacks, Cardinals, Phoenix Rising FC, and US Soccer. I also love Tottenham Hotspur and Borrusia Dortmund. I grew up playing baseball, basketball, and soccer, and hurting myself during all of them. I also play guitar. I love rock music. Some of my favorite bands are Bruce Springsteen, U2, The Beatles, Foo Fighters, and Dispatch. I’m a freshman at the University of Arizona. I’m majoring in a cool program that combines politics, philosophy, economics, and law. Talk to me about Arizona basketball and football because I never shut up about it.

My name is Zach Regelin, I am a student at the University of Oregon, and I live and breathe sports. As a lifelong Oregonian, being a sports fan can be a constant struggle. Instead of asking myself whether my local NBA team can compete for a title, I wonder which future superstar we passed on in the draft. Even my own school -- which has had plenty of success over the years -- always seems to come up short in the biggest moments. Despite the frequent heartbreaks, I wouldn't trade my fandom of Oregon sports for any other team with a more lucrative history. It will just make the eventual championship that much sweeter.

Well hello there. My life as a sports fan has typically been filled with either ecstasy or deep suffering. I watched my Seahawks obliterate the Broncos for their first Super Bowl win one year, only to see them toss the second one away on the damn goal line in what is easily the worst play call in football history. I saw Marcus Mariota and Royce Freeman bulldoze Florida State in the Rose Bowl, and then got to enjoy the spectacular downward spiral of the Ducks program that started with a beat-down from Ohio State in the National Championship that same season. Hell, this last season, I even got to see a real coaching controversy! So yeah – I’ve gotten to experience pretty much every emotion associated with sports.

Growing up in Southern California, I fell in love with sports at a very young age. Los Angeles sports is what shaped my love and passion for the world of sports; through this city’s historic teams and passionate fan base, I developed a strong connection with sports and my teams in LA. I have experienced many incredible sports moments in my life, and as a diehard LA Sports fan I have truly been blessed with many defining moments in sports history. From the Kobe Shaq era of the Lakers, to USC’s dominate run in College Football, to Kobe reviving the LakeShow for back-to-back titles, to the Kings’ improbable run in the NHL, there has been no shortage of excitement in the City of Angels. My passion for LA sports has never dwindled, even as an Oregon State graduate, my love for this city’s teams has grown even stronger along with my love of Beaver athletics.

My name is Kevin Luthringer. I am a 23-year-old lifelong Arkansas Razorback and Dallas Cowboys fan. So yes, as many other fans I have experienced a plethora of excruciating losses. Yes, I know the Cowboys have won 5 Super Bowls, but I lived through the 21-year playoff drought for a team that is covered by national media as much as anyone. So I heard about it often. Then you have the Razorbacks. The Hogs have done a lot of losing, and more often than not, they find a way do so in a ridiculous fashion by blowing double-digit halftime leads. So, with that being said, there will always be something to write about.

When it comes to sports journalism, I'm known for covering the Arkansas Razorbacks. I've worked for several publications and stations across the Natural State, and I'm excited to branch out as a multimedia journalist. Am I pessimistic? Yes! I've been around long enough to know when a team oversells and underdelivers (if this wasn't a word before, it is now). So, don't get mad at me when I call it like I see it!

I am a student at the University of Florida studying Journalism Sports Media. I love all sports, but baseball has had my heart for over 15 years. In my spare time, you can find me at the local Chick-fil-A or cuddling at home with the cutest dog you've ever seen- my Golden Retriever, Harper. And yes, she just so happens to be named after Bryce Harper.

I’m a student at the University of Georgia majoring in both economics and sport management looking to combine my two favorite things: money and sports. Other than UGA, I’m a Giants, Knicks, and Mets fan – it hasn’t been a good year for me. I’ve previously written for and appeared on podcasts for footballgarbagetime.com. I’m also an NFL Columnist over at The Sports Quotient, and I covered Georgia State University’s football and basketball teams for 247 Sports during my senior year of high school. Outside of the sports world that we all love and cherish, I’m a rap aficionado, and I am proud to say I still have zero wins on Fortnite. You can find me on Twitter @joeyalibro for a healthy dose of sports, music, and memes.

My name is Tj Barnett and I am an avid sports fan. I grew up in Louisville, KY (don’t worry, I’d rather run my head through a thousand brick walls than be a UofL fan). Ever since I was 2 years old, I was rocking UK booties and mumbling the fight song. It was all UK basketball until I discovered the Cincinnati Bengals and the Reds in ’05 then the Miami Heat in ’06. Ever since then, I’ve lived and breathed sports! My Twitter account is where I avidly voice my opinion in relation to sports, and I’m always ready for a good argument.

My love of baseball sprung from my mom bribing me with Dippin’ Dots to go watch the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium with her when I was little. It didn't take long for me to start calling pitches and know anything and everything about the game and I haven't turned back. Broadcast Journalism student at the University of Kentucky. Avid Cats and St. Louis Cardinals/Blues fan.

I grew up in an up and coming town in Northern Virginia called Leesburg, but most people from the area would say it is much easier to just say right outside of DC. I am a DC Sports fan except for the fact that I root more for the Orioles because the Nationals did not come to the area until I had already fell in love with Camden Yards. Growing up I always admired Gamecock Sports from afar but now, I bleed Garnet and Black. Currently I am an aspiring sports journalist at the University of South Carolina and I cannot wait to see what the future holds here at ArmChair!

I was born in a small town in Massachusetts called Sharon, but it’s easier to just say Boston for those who ask. I moved to Lexington, South Carolina when I was young but always remained a Boston sports fan (Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, etc.). Once I moved to the great Palmetto state, I quickly realized the importance of college football. I always said I was a Carolina fan when people asked because it was easy, but eventually I learned to love Gamecock sports. I went to nearly every game of the College World Series seasons in 2010 and 2011 and begged friends to take me with them to Williams-Brice. Now, I’m a sophomore Broadcast Journalism student at USC with a minor in Sport and Entertainment Management. I can’t wait to see what the future holds here at ArmChair! Go Cocks!

Sports have always been a huge part of my life. I played baseball, football, basketball, and ran track growing up. I was fortunate to enough to go on to play football in college at Carson-Newman University. Tennessee sports have always been a passion of mine. I grew up about 10 minutes away from Neyland Stadium. I fell in love with the noise and tradition of UT.I am now a season ticket holder hosting the best tailgates in Knoxville. I am also currently trying to go to different venues around the SEC. I am a host/producer of the More Important Issues Podcast. Check us out on iTunes or Twitter @More_Issues. Go Vols!

My name is Collin Ginnan and I am majoring in Finance and Spanish at The Ohio State University. I grew up playing baseball year-round from t-ball through high school and am a diehard Cincinnati Reds fan. Coming from a family of Buckeyes, I was raised living and breathing Ohio State football. To the best of my memory, I have not missed a single game to date. Ohio State vs. Penn State during Homecoming? That’s what the Watch ESPN app is for. Besides the Buckeyes and Reds, I follow the Blue Jackets, Browns, Cavaliers, FC Cincinnati, and Liverpool FC.

I have loved baseball my entire life. From the time I was four years old and my uncle introduced me to Sammy Sosa and the Chicago Cubs to now, baseball has occupied my thinking every day for the past 15 years of my life. Although I don’t play anymore, writing allows me to stay connected with the game I love and provide insight to and spark discussions with others who love the game as much as I do. As for my fandom, I grew up a Cubs fan watching them on WGN and praying for the year when they’d finally break through and win the elusive World Series. November 2, 2016 will go down as one of the best days of my life. Everything is right in the world when pitchers and catchers report to Arizona and Florida in mid-February.

What’s up Armchair All-American readers. My name is Nick Stevens and I call the great state of Virginia home. I’ve been an avid Orioles’ fan since childhood. The first time I ever went to Camden Yards I saw Sidney Ponson pitch and was convinced he was an amazing pitcher. Luckily, my baseball IQ and tastes have developed. I’m a teacher, turned writer, who is enjoying every second of this journey. When I’m not watching baseball, which is a rarity, I’m watching mid-major college sports. Welcome to baseball season folks. Grab a Natty Boh and let’s talk Orioles’ baseball. See you at Camden Yards!

Hi my name is Daniel Plocher and I am a junior at Wisconsin Lutheran College. I am the Editor-in-Chief of our student newspaper and love writing for Armchair. I was raised in California, however I love all Detroit sports. My family is really weird because one side of the family is all Detroit and Michigan fans, and the other side is huge into Wisconsin sports and Michigan St fans. We are literally a family divided by sports. Because of this, I cheer for the Brewers and the Bucks to ease a bit of tension. I mainly write for Armchair Tigers, but I also write some pieces for my other fandoms as well.

I found my love for sports writing when I first interned for Isportsweb. I'd never thought about just putting my basketball-related thoughts to paper until I came across the internship opening on a school job board. Something like 50 articles later, I became a contributor for Fansided and VAVEL USA and expanded my horizons. Now I'm here and, in all honesty, I feel I'm where I belong. I've been a Knicks fan since 2011-12, a Yankees fan for even longer, and have made my way into the NFL as a Jets fan. Only one of those teams actually does something for NY, but hey, it doesn't matter when I get to see sports played in one of the greatest cities in the world 😉 PS: I'm 6'4" and NOT in the NBA so I have no reason to be talking smack

Life growing up as an Atlanta sports fan prepared me for the worst. Consistent moments of cliff-hanging excitement ultimately leading to crushing heart ache time-after-time soften the blows of life's disappointments. Any number of rejection letters for internship programs or scholarships I received while I was a student at Georgia State University didn't compare to seeing the Hawks going to 10 consecutive postseasons with zero conference finals wins or the Braves winning 14 consecutive division titles with only one world championship to show for it. I grew up in the era where Mike Vick emerged as king, before becoming Inmate No. 33765-183- and so goes life.

Loving sports was never really an option for me. If you were raised in a family that repaints the living room because the yellow walls and the red couches would be reminiscent of USC, you know what I mean. If you were raised in a family that names their eldest son Riley after Pat Riley, their cat Magic after Magic Johnson, their dog Fisher after Derek Fisher, and multiple fish Kobe, you know what I mean. When it came time for me to choose a career, my love of sports (and distaste of most subjects other than English) led me to Sports Journalism. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I absolutely adore the Los Angeles Lakers, and hate the Boston Celtics; I love UCLA and despise USC. I’m working towards making my family proud and I don’t intend to stop anytime soon.

Hey Guys! Although I go by Jack professionally, my popular nickname is J.T. I’ve been raised in a small suburb outside the great city of Chicago, so obviously I live and breathe Chicago sports. Out of the four major sports (NHL, NFL, MLB, and NBA), I am the most knowledgeable and most interested in the NBA. I can talk for as long as I want about anything relating to the NBA or basketball in general, but I’m not afraid to indulge myself in new sports topics each and every single day. I am currently attending Marquette University and plan to pursue a degree (and hopefully a career) in sports journalism.
