After going on a four-game losing streak, the Orlando Magic started a streak of good play with a win over the Memphis Grizzlies, 118-86.

Before that game, the Magic had a record of 2-6. They have since won four out of its last five games to get within a game of .500. It’s very clear the Magic have found its weaknesses and worked on them.

Throughout the game, the Magic maintained a strong lead, with the lead extending even further towards the final minutes of the last quarter. Looking at the quarter-by-quarter statistics, you will see that the Magic has scored points that were in a specific range, mid-20s to mid-30s.

This differs from the Grizzlies by how the team dropped after the third quarter, going from scoring 30 points in the third to only eight points in the fourth.

Another thing to take note was how the Magic succeeded based off how it was able to score the most points in the paint, 62 points compared to the Grizzlies’ 34 points. In addition, the Magic were able to out-rebound the Grizzlies, with the Magic ending with 57 rebounds, and the Grizzlies with 36.

As for Magic players that performed well during Friday’s game, Aaron Gordon and Evan Fournier continue to play well, with Gordon scoring 17-points and Fournier scoring 19-points. Additionally, Nikola Vucevic and Jonathan Isaac were the top two scorers of the team, 23 points and 22 points, respectively.

Other positives of the game were, Michael Carter-Williams’ and Markelle Fultz’ ability to find open players and make shots. The Magic will host another home game against the Indiana Pacers, Sunday night at 6 p.m.

My name is Jonathan David and I am from a small town called Green Cove Springs, located in northeast Florida. Originally from Miami, Florida, my family moved up north, as I was entering the fourth grade. Once we moved, I eventually started getting into sports a lot more. I did soccer, basketball and running and pole-vaulting; however, the main sport that I pretty much keep up with is, basketball, specifically the NBA. Although I’ll occasionally watch track and field if it’s on ESPN. There were many reasons why I got into basketball, besides it looking like fun, one reason was because I wanted to be like Bugs Bunny from Space Jam, not Michael Jordan, but Bugs Bunny, and while my dream of being an animated character hasn’t panned out, I still enjoy playing and watching the sport. My favorite NBA team is the Orlando Magic, and I’ve been a fan since Lebron was in Miami, so when they eventually get good, people can’t say I’m a bandwagon fan.
