Key Player: Case Keenum

Case Keenum was not very hyped coming into this game. However, he casually threw for 369 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions, good for a 142.1 rating. He made it look easy against the Tampa Bay defense, and his stellar passing opened up the run game all day long.

GAME RECAP AND ANALYSIS

The Vikings came out hot and took an early lead. From there, they never looked back. The defense picked off Jameis Winston three times to stop any chance of a comeback that Tampa Bay may have had. On offense, Stefon Diggs shined with 173 yards on eight catches, hauling in two touchdowns. Dalvin Cook totaled 169 yards (97 rushing, 72 receiving), and Adam Thielen finished with 98 yards receiving. DeSean Jackson made some nice plays for the Bucs, finishing the day with 84 yards, but it wasn’t enough. The Vikings ran away with this one, 34-17.

I am a college student, born and raised in central Indiana. Somehow, I grew up a diehard fan of the Vikings, Cubs, and Pacers. My entire life, I had never witnessed a championship for one of my teams, so when the Cubs pulled it off last season, I didn’t know what to do or say. My Twitter (@lparrish22) is filled with upset and disappointed tweets, including having to watch John Lackey every five days and the infamous Blair Walsh miss. No matter how hard it is to watch my teams choke every year, I always hold out hope. “Next year” is the most common saying in my household.
