Where does Bobby Hurley go when he wants to win in Arizona? Well it’s certainly not in Tucson, we found out, as the Arizona State Sun Devils got blown out by the Wildcats at the McKale Center in Tucson by a score of 91-75 on Thursday night.

The McKale Center is never a welcoming Arena. The Wildcats have only lost once at the McKale Center in the last four seasons. Arizona proved that once again when they “welcomed” Bobby Hurley and his Sun Devils with a roar of boos and heckles against coach Hurley (as a result from his comments he made earlier about Tucson). Not to mention Arizona has a strong running rivalry with the Sun Devils already.

But for the Wildcats offense, it was a record night for freshman forward Lauri Markkanen. Markkanen who posted for a career high 30 points, has continued to impress Sean Miller and the Arizona fans with what he can do on the court. He even went on a quite a good three point streak for a bit too.

Markkanen was assisted by his teammates Kadeem Allen, Dusan Ristic, and Kobi Simmons who posted 18, 16, and 13 points respectively.

The Wildcats will be away from McKale for their next stretch as they travel to Los Angeles to take on the USC Trojans and UCLA Bruins next week.

My name is Rob Leano. I’m a huge sports fan from the San Francisco Bay Area & Silicon Valley. I consider myself a San Jose Sharks Super-Fan. But I also pledge my allegiance to the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. Needless to say, I’ve experienced my fair share of Playoff Torture. In 2015, I moved to the desert southwest in Tucson, Arizona to study Broadcast Journalism at the University of Arizona. I have adopted the new fan-ship of the Arizona Wildcats since then. Here at Armchair, I co-run the Pac-12 Department, write about the Arizona Wildcats AND the San Jose Sharks…. But don’t let any of what I said distract you from the fact that Arizona beat ASU 56-35 without attempting a pass in the second half.
