Surprising Cuts

The starting left guard in 2016, Alex Boone, was perhaps the most shocking cut made by the front office. Edmond Robinson and Ifeadi Odenigbo on the bubble all of camp, but they were also released prior to the deadline. Jack Tocho was hyped up early in camp but came up short in the end. WR Cayleb Jones played very well when given a chance, but Rodney Adams grabs the final WR spot.

Other Notes

QB Teddy Bridgewater was placed on the PUP list, meaning he will miss at least the first six weeks of the season.

Datone Jones was place on IR, and Sharrif Floyd was placed on NFI list. Michael Floyd will start the season on the reserve/suspended list.

In all, 11 rookies made the roster, including three undrafted free agents in Eric Wilson, Tashawn Bower, and Aviante Collins.

These moves are likely not the final moves with waiver claims coming, but this is the initilal 53-man roster.

I am a college student, born and raised in central Indiana. Somehow, I grew up a diehard fan of the Vikings, Cubs, and Pacers. My entire life, I had never witnessed a championship for one of my teams, so when the Cubs pulled it off last season, I didn’t know what to do or say. My Twitter (@lparrish22) is filled with upset and disappointed tweets, including having to watch John Lackey every five days and the infamous Blair Walsh miss. No matter how hard it is to watch my teams choke every year, I always hold out hope. “Next year” is the most common saying in my household.
