Saturday was one crazy day of college football. Two undefeated, top five teams lost on the road. I myself am still trying to digest what happened last night as we stormed the field in Columbus. Nonetheless, let’s take a look at some uniforms!
Best Alternate: Arizona State
I always loved Sparky on the old Arizona State helmets. It’s a classic logo and a classic look. I think if the Sun Devils went with this look every game, they’d have one of the best uniforms in college football. Unfortunately, for now, it’s nothing but a throwback uniform.
One thing that could make these better would be completing the throwback with the gold pants.
Worst Alternate: Ohio State
The Buckeyes won the game, and that’s all that really matters, but let’s not pretend that those uniforms looked anything like Ohio State. I vote the Buckeyes never wear an alternate like them, ever again.

Honorable Mention: Illinois pulled a similar gimmick as the Buckeyes with an all -gray uniform. (If you haven’t caught on, I mentioned my disdain for gray uniforms in last week’s article.) For the last honorable mention, let’s play guess this team. That’s right, Maryland! Who would’ve thought?
Ugliest Game: Duke vs. Virginia Tech
Duke‘s colors are blue and white, so obviously they go with a black helmet, white jersey and black pants look. Virginia Tech brought out a strange orange helmet that simply does not look as good as their maroon and white one. Neither of these uniform combos work together, whatsoever.
Feature Game: Florida vs. Georgia
Things were anything but pretty for the Gators on the field, with the Bulldogs bludgeoning them back to Gainesville. However, they did show up to the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in style. The traditional rivals sported two classic looks in Jacksonville.
