Ohio State is known for All-Americans and All-Big Ten football players. Occasionally, the Buckeyes have players who fly under the radar. Let’s take a look at a few players that are underrated.
Damon Arnette has played a lot but has been overlooked during his career. This season is no different, in the secondary everyone is talking about sophomore Jeffery Okudah or senior Kendall Sheffield. Arnette is a very talented cornerback who just keeps getting better. Last year, Arnette was a solid starting cornerback who accounted for two interceptions. Look for Damon Arnette to have another solid season and make an impact in 2018.
Brady Taylor is replacing a Rimington Trophy winner and All-American, Billy Price. Surely, Taylor learned a lot from Price as they were roommates the past few seasons. Now a senior, Taylor will have a huge impact in 2018 and should have a solid senior season.
Justin Hilliard has been itching to get on the field ever since he has been on campus. Injuries have plagued him his whole career. Now that Hilliard can get on the field in 2018, he will make impact right away thanks to a depleted linebacker unit that desperately needs someone to step up.
Robert Landers is the most underrated player on this Buckeye football team. When you line up with guys like Nick Bosa, Chase Young and Dre’Mont Jones you will get overlooked. Landers has had made play after play his whole career. He’ll have many opportunities to stuff the run in 2018. He had five tackles for loss in 2017 while being more of a rotational player.
At the end of the day
The Buckeyes suit up talent everywhere on the field year in and year out. Currently, we are less than six Saturdays away the 2018 season. Soon enough we will see what these players can accomplish in 2018.
