College basketball’s conference tournaments won’t be the only sporting events making headlines on this St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

Saturday, another UFC Fight Night takes place, again exclusive to ESPN+ in the United States. UFC on ESPN+ 5 will begin at 1 p.m. EDT, 10 a.m. PDT with the undercard, followed by the main card at 4 p.m. EDT, 1 p.m. PDT. Think of this event as a warm-up before the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Mikey Garcia IBF Welterweight title fight on pay-per-view in the evening. Pre-order that fight if you haven’t already.

Highlighting the card is a Welterweight contest matching No. 3 contender Darren Till (17-1-1) with No. 11 contender Jorge Masvidal (32-13) in a five-round fight.

Contender Comparison:

Darren Till is the taller contestant in Saturday’s main event, standing at six feet even, compared to Masvidal’s 5-foot-11 frame. Till has posted a record of 4-1 in his last five UFC fights. The lone blemish in that span occurred last time out vs. Tyron Woodley (second-round submission) during UFC 228 on Sept. 8 in Dallas, a Welterweight title fight.

In the other corner, Jorge Masvidal has posted a 3-2 record in his last five UFC fights and is on a two-fight losing streak heading into this weekend’s contest. Masvidal has not fought since November of 2017, when he lost to Stephen Thompson (unanimous decision) in UFC 217.

The Tale of the Tape:

Darren Till holds a half-inch reach advantage (74.5 inches to 74 inches) and a 2.5-inch leg reach advantage (42 inches to 39.5 inches) over Jorge Masvidal.

Prediction: Till by first-round KO.

Other fights on Saturday’s main card:

No. 10 contender Leon Edwards (16-3) vs. No. 13 contender Gunnar Nelson (17-3-1) [Welterweight, co-main event]

No. 6 contender Volkan Oezdemir (15-3) vs. No. 8 contender Dominic Reyes (10-0) [Light Heavyweight]

Nathaniel Wood (15-3) vs. Jose Quinones (7-2) [Bantamweight]

Danny Roberts (16-3) vs. Claudio Silva (11-1) [Welterweight]

Jack Marshman (22-8) vs. John Phillips (21-7, one no-contest) [Middleweight]
