Trae Young has been the most talked about rookie for the Atlanta Hawks in quite a while. He was highly popular at Oklahoma University, and it fell over into the draft. Also, being compared to Steph Curry can get you some attention as well. Recently, it seems like people are starting to take note of Young around the league. This is new for the Hawks.

Melo and Trae re-unite

Isn’t it crazy that Trae Young and Carmelo Anthony played on the same team before? Well, it looks like it’s no love lost between the two as they were seen playing a 5-on-5 pickup game along with other NBA players.

They were definitely putting in work in the clip. I can’t really tell who the other players are, besides Mohamed Bamba. Anthony and Young were playing pickup basketball last week with Bamba and CJ McCollum.

Balling with the MVP

It looks like Young is trying to get some tips from as many players as he can. Last month, there was a picture surfacing around with him, James Harden, and Chris Paul.

It seems as if Young is doing all the right things heading into his rookie season. Getting a workout in with last season’s MVP is big. Also getting some time with one of the best point guards in the league is even better. I wonder if he’ll workout with his comparison one day. Only time will tell.

Mediocrity and heartbreak. That’s what your life consists of being an Atlanta sports fan, and I’ve lived it for years now. The Atlanta Hawks have been labeled as mediocre for 10 years straight. Even when they were one of the best teams in 2015, they were swept by the Cavaliers in the Conference Finals. The Falcons are nothing different. Mediocre enough to get to the playoffs, and then vulnerable enough to break your hearts at the end. I know you watched the Super Bowl. So as an Atlanta fan you’re either going to get one or the other. It’s sad to say, but I’m numb to it. One day we’ll break this curse, the question is when?
