Jeff Teague is reportedly planning on signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves when free agency begins at Midnight tonight. The long time point guard for the Atlanta Hawks spent last year in Indiana, after being dealt to Indiana in a 3-team deal last offseason. It is expected to be valued at $57M.
This is the third big move in a series of big moves by President of Basketball operations Tom Thibodeau and General Manager, Scott Layden. This all started with a draft night trade, where the T-Wolves acquired Jimmy Butler for a package that included the number 7 overall pick.

Tibbs then decided to deal Rubio and make the first big splash in free agency by agreeing to this deal with Teague. The breakdown of this deal certainly helps the Timberwolves. They get another guard who can shoot, and defend at a high level. Teague is a point guard who can run the offense, and also create on his own. Many don’t expect him to take shots away from the two starts already on the roster. Teague is also a much better shooter than Rubio, which is a must in today’s NBA.
