For the first time in 114 games, the Ohio State Buckeyes had less than 100,000 fans in the stands this past Saturday. The low number of fans could of been due to the rain.
The weather did not stop the Buckeyes, as they blew out Rutgers 52-3. Let’s take a look at the players who shined during the rain this past Saturday and earned more leaves for their helmets.
Defensive End Chase Young
Chase Young was a monster against the Scarlet Knights. Young provided two sacks, two tackles and two tackles for loss. Unfortunately, he did have two personal fouls for celebrating, which got him ejected. Luckily, Young will face no suspension.

Wide Receiver Parris Campbell
Parris Campbell showcased his skills Saturday as he hauled in five receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown. In the first half, Campbell became the main check down guy for quarterback Dwayne Haskins. Look for the Buckeyes to try and keep getting the ball to him, as he is one of the most explosive play-makers on the field.

Wide Receiver Johnnie Dixon
Johnnie Dixon found plenty of separation against Rutgers. Dixon’s four receptions for 89 yards and two touchdowns led the team. As the season moves along, look for Dixon to get the bulk of the shots down the field.

Quarterback Tate Martell
Tate Martell finally got to showcase his skills. Martell was a perfect 10-for-10 in passing, for 121 yards and a touchdown. Tate was also the leading rusher for the Buckeyes, adding 95 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. As the season goes on and the games get tougher, look for the Buckeyes to use him in goal line packages.
Two things I forgot to mention in my interview:
1. Coach Day has made me such a better player since I got to OSU. Best coach I’ve ever been around.
2. Dwayne makes me a better quarterback. He’s as gifted of a player at quarterback that I’ve seen. He pushes me to get better.

Next for the Buckeyes:
Next for the Buckeyes is a prime time neutral site game against TCU. This trip to Texas is obviously a tougher game for the Buckeyes. Look for Ohio State to shine bright yet again in week three.
