This past Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes suited up and trotted into The Horseshoe without head coach Urban Meyer. With the 77-31 victory over the Oregon State Beavers, the Buckeye players showed up and earned their Buckeye leaves. Let’s take a look at the guys who have added one more sticker to their collection.

Senior wide receiver Terry McLaurin

This past Saturday was McLaurin’s best game of his career by far. He hauled in four receptions for 121 yards and two touchdowns. He opened both the first half and the second half with touchdowns. The senior impressed Buckeye Nation with his outstanding play.

Junior defensive end Nick Bosa

Nick’s four tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery in the end zone helped the Buckeyes keep the Beavers to negative four yards rushing through a quarter in half. Looking forward to seeing Bosa’s continued progression in what could be his final season in Columbus.

Sophomore quarterback Dwayne Haskins

The Dwayne Haskins era at Ohio State begin with a bang. The young quarterback became the first Buckeye ever to have 300-plus yards passing in their first start. Haskins showed his ability to sit in the pocket and make strikes to his receivers. The 313 yards and five touchdowns is just the beginning for the young Haskins.

Junior running back Mike Weber Jr.

What a day by running back Mike Weber. Weber rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns on just 20 carries. He also added a receiving touchdown to to the very impressive day. Weber was out to prove that he is still the same running back as he was in 2016. As the season progresses on, he and J.K. Dobbins will be a huge part in what is an explosive offense.

What’s next for the Buckeyes

Now that Urban Meyer can get back to coaching practice this week. Look for the Buckeyes to work on their tackling and other fundamentals. Look forward to a very intense week of practice as they get ready for the Big Ten opener against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
