Entering the 2018-2019 season, the Philadelphia 76ers faced several potential problems about the roster.
Those were legitimate questions at the time and are still very relevant now. But Dario Saric flew under the radar all offseason without much thought.
Ice cold Homie
Saric was beyond bad for the first 11 games of the season. He was shooting 23 percent from three and 34 percent from the field.
His defense, which was never his strong suit, haunted the 76ers late in games with the likes of Blake Griffin constantly picking on him.
Many wanted him to sit out and rest, due to just finishing his overseas ball right before training camp.
But the Saric that Sixers fans loved from last season (he shot 39 percent from three last year) finally made his season debut when they needed him.
He played an efficient game posting 18 points on 13 shots. He made four of his six threes which contributed mightily to the 76ers winning their first road game this season.
His outside shooting combined with his post play aren’t skills many other Sixers have in their tool box.
They need him if they are to improve their record against the elite teams in the Eastern Conference.
If Saric can build off this performance, we will start to see last year’s Sixers begin to make their way back.
Per Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Muscala suffered a facial laceration and broken nose in practice.
He will be re-evaluated in a week and will where a mask upon his return. Not the best start to his tenure in Philadelphia.
