The offseason for Rocket League is upon us, and Texas RL is back with another huge event. The Austin, Texas location of Google Fiber Space is teaming up with the Rocket League Tournament Organizer (TO) to bring a live 2v2 tournament with a $3,000 prize pool, all taking place June 30, 2018.

As is usually the case, there is going to be a stage where the players will be playing live in a double-elimination tournament with a video wall behind them. 24 teams will have a chance at the $1,600 winner’s prize. Players 13 and up will be welcome, but under 18 participants will need a waiver signed by a parent to play.

What makes this event different will be special “streamer areas” where celebrity streamers will be onsite to hang out and play a few games with fans on another video wall. Attendees will be able to try their skill against these streamers and generally hang out. When not playing with fans, the streamers will be at an autograph booth. Bring stuff for them to sign, or purchase merchandise onsite!

Google Fiber will be providing food and drinks during the event, as well as their insane internet speeds. Those speeds are going to be needed in order to follow this stringent schedule:

11:30 Doors Open for Tournament Players

11:50 Tournament Final Call

13:00 Doors Open for non Players

13:30 Broadcast Starts

14:00 First Streamer Signing and Merchandise

14:00 Fourth Streamer Play Session

15:15 Second Streamer Play Session

15:45 Third Streamer Signing and Merchandise

16:30 First Streamer Play Session

17:00 Dinner

17:20 Tournament Winner’s Finals

17:30 Second Streamer Signing and Merchandise

17:45 Third Streamer Play Session

18:20 Tournament Loser’s Finals

19:10 Tournament Grand Finals

This is a massive undertaking by a local TO, but Texas RL is no stranger to hosting LAN events. Last year they ran the Dallas Open from the Source Gaming lounge. That event featured crowd funded RLRS teams, shoutcasters and merchandise. Texas RL also runs smaller LAN events at a variety of locations; more information can be found at the links below.

Sign-up information will be released on Friday June 15 at https://smash.gg/GigaLAN
