The world has been without basketball for almost a month now but it’s right around the corner… in a sense. Once NBA teams start announcing their preseason schedules, you know its only a matter of time before teams begin to suit up again.
The San Antonio Spurs were one of the first teams to broadcast their preseason schedule. Gregg Popovich and the gang will play five games. The Spurs will get three at home. Their preseason opens on Monday, Oct. 2, with De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center. It will be fun to see how those rookies and veterans mix in Sacramento. They’ll head back home and suit up again against the Kings four days later on Fri., Oct. 6. San Antonio will take on a revamped Denver Nuggets team on Oct. 8 (AT&T Center), the Orlando Magic on Oct. 10 (AT&T Center) and the new look Houston Rockets on Oct. 13 (Toyota Center).
Although the Spurs are participating in Summer League now, the preseason will really be the time to see how rookies Derrick White and Jaron Blossomgame compliment Dejounte Murray and Kawhi Leonard. It’s always entertaining to see how Popovich will mix his rookies with his veteran presence.
