June 2nd is going to be an absolutely huge weekend for the 2019 South Carolina recruiting class. There are currently seven recruits who are taking their official visits to USC, according to 247sports. Three recruits are composite top-50 recruits out of high school, and two more are top-15 JUCO players.

Here’s the list of the current June official visitors:

Savion JacksonDE4
Elijah BladesDB4 (JUCO)
Chris SteeleDB4
Zacch PickensDE5
Anthony WhiganOT4 (JUCO)
Jammie RobinsonATH3
Joseph AndersonDE4

Now, it’s not going to be a weekend where seven out of seven commit. It’s highly unlikely more than two of the visitors commit.

Right now, before the visits even happen, the two most likely to commit are Zacch Pickens and Joseph Anderson. Both are defensive ends and are considered to be South Carolina leans. Pickens and Anderson would be huge gets for the South Carolina staff with Pickens being the first 5-star recruit to commit to the Gamecocks under Will Muschamp. However, any combination of Pickens, Anderson or Savion Jackson would be welcomed with open arms by any fan.

Defensive back is the one position that South Carolina has no current commits. Chris Steele would be an absolutely outstanding addition to this class, but the Gamecocks are a long shot. It’s going to be hard to pry Steele away from Southern Cal., much less get him to come across the country. Jammie Robinson, who most think will be a defensive back at the next level, is a 3-star guy but has an offer from 22 Power-5 schools. Obviously, he would be an elite addition, but only time can tell.

With there only being nine current spots left in the 2019 class, it’s going to be very interesting to see how they fit recruits. Defensive back has been addressed with the transfer additions of Nick Harvey and JT Ibe, but those guys are one-year rentals. Defensive back is a spot that is going to be crucial for this class. Adding quality depth is key, but this class still has a very good chance to be special for Will Muschamp.
