The Philadelphia 76ers have quickly put the front office mess behind them very quickly.
With less than two weeks until the 2018 NBA draft the Sixers have been busy scouting this year’s draft class.
Bridges at No. 10?
Villanova’s Mikal Bridges worked out for the 76ers on Tuesday and is one of the front runners to be the 76ers pick at No. 10.
The two-time national champion would be a nice addition to the team, but is he the right fit?
I would argue the 76ers may need to look in a different direction.
Remember back to the playoff series with the Boston Celtics. The Sixers lacked the ability to create for themselves off the dribble.
Bridges was a tremendous 3-point shooter (43.5 percent last season) with the Wildcats. But he rarely showed an ability to work defenders down.
At Villanova they spaced the floor and shot threes. The Sixers need to play differently due to the roster.
What works in his favor is his defensive mentality. He is a willing defender, which is what Brett Brown empathized last season.
Bridges knows the importance of playing defense on the 76ers.
“That’s how I play,” Bridges said.

If Bridges is still on the board at 10, the Sixers may not be able to pass on his ceiling. Perhaps he can get better creating for himself. He would have no problem creating for Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.
