One of the most highly anticipated seasons for the Philadelphia 76ers is finally getting close.

But before the team starts playing games together that count, it all starts with training camp.

It’s been a long offseason since the heartbreaking game seven loss to the Toronto Raptors, and now’s the time to focus on a new season.

This team has the potential to make last year’s bitter finish feel like a distant memory.

Team Announcements

The Sixers announced Monday the dates of training camp, which will run from Oct. 1 to Oct. 4 at the practice facility in Camden, New Jersey.

Simple math will tell you that’s less than two weeks away.

In addition to training camp, the team announced the annual Blue x White scrimmage will take place on Oct. 5 at the Delaware Blue Coats arena in Delaware.

Perhaps the scrimmage will be the first time we will see the entire starting lineup together.

What to look for on Oct. 5

Maybe Ben Simmons will show off his hard work from the summer and take some shots from deep. A friendly environment in front of Sixers fans seems like the perfect time to unveil his progress.

Also, perhaps we will see Joel Embiid and Al Horford take the court together for the first time as teammates.

Don’t forget about the young guys like Zhaire Smith and Matisse Thybulle. They should be counted on to have roles off the bench.
