Elite 2019 offensive tackle Jackson Lampley recently took some time to do an interview with Armchair. Just like 4-star cornerback Chris Steele, Lampley gave some amazing answers.
A bunch of schools are already pining to have the 6-4, 300 pound lineman on their sideline. Lampley has 16 offers to date, nine from the SEC. “I really have liked the SEC my whole life, and growing up in Tennessee has really exposed me to that brand of football,” he told Armchair. However, Lampley included that a school being in the SEC would not influence his final decision.
The Nashville native is a hard-nosed, old school type of player. He said he tries to model his game after Taylor Lewan and Orlando Pace, a top-five tackle in the game today and an all-time great, respectively. Both of these players are/were known across the NFL to be tough as nails, and it’s easy to see that characteristic in Lampley’s game.
He already knows his priorities when searching for a home at the next level: “Things that really attract me to a school are academics, proximity to home, atmosphere, and truly where I feel most comfortable.” A Nashville native, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are two realistic possibilities for Lampley.
“A few schools that I really like right now are Auburn, Tennessee, Duke and LSU.”
Those are the schools that he considers in the front of the pack right now, but there is still a long time before Lampley’s process will be anywhere near done.
Jackson Lampley has tentative visits planned to Duke, Tennessee, Auburn, South Carolina, LSU and Auburn.
