The SEC is all but set in terms of contenders and pretenders at this point. What does Week 9 bring us as the season begins to wind down?
If you are a fan of watching the Crimson Tide trample over everyone they face- this is not your week. If you are interested to see Ed Orgeron attempt English or the wheels fall off the Gus Bus over on the Plains, this ain’t your week either. And if you’re an Ole Miss fan- well, I’m sorry but it really never seems to be your week.
Those four are on bye week, but that won’t stop exciting stuff from going down this week. Let’s talk about what you can watch and where shall we? All times are in ET.
At noon, Vanderbilt heads to Arkansas in a game that has lovingly been called the “toilet bowl.” Both teams are looking for some kind relevancy as the season winds down. That one will be on the SEC Network.
Now, we move to the CBS Game of the Week, the one that everyone and their momma should be excited about. The Georgia Bulldogs and the Florida Gators fight it out in Jacksonville for first place in the East starting at 3:30 pm. That is one you are going to want to watch, I promise.
If for some reason you’d rather watch a different game, Kentucky faces off against Missouri starting at 4 pm on the SEC Network. While the Wildcats are also fighting for that top spot in the East- this one doesn’t have the same excitement as two teams facing off for the same spot in the standings.
In the evening slot, Texas A&M is back in action as they head to Stark Vegas to take on the struggling Mississippi State Bulldogs. This game is a big deal for Texas A&M as they try to show the world that they can finish the season as strong as they start it. For Mississippi State, they are just trying to get back on track after a disappointing loss to LSU in which Nick Fitzgerald looked extremely lost. That one will be at 7 pm on ESPN.
If you are more into SEC East football, Tennessee and South Carolina go head to head in a battle for the middle of the East. That one will kick off at 7:30 pm on the SEC Network.
This has been your SEC Week in Preview. See ya on the other side y’all.
