GAME RECAP

The Lumberjacks and Red Raiders traded buckets for the first 20 minutes. The Stephen F. Austin owned the half’s largest lead of six with just over eleven minutes to play as the lead bounced back and fourth like an intense game of ping pong.

Texas Tech kept teasing a comeback in the second half, but SFA maintained at least a three point lead until the refs took over with eight and a half to go in the game.

Tech guard David Moretti fouled SFA forward Samuli Nieminen, which put Nieminen to the line with a 1 and 1. However, the zebras went to the monitor and determined that Nieminen elbowed Moretti in the face, so Nieminen was issued a technical foul. Keenan Evans converted both of Tech’s free throws to bring the Red Raiders within one. They tied it up a minute later, and both teams traded baskets for the next few minutes.

Texas Tech took the lead for the first time in the second half with 3:42 thanks to a Keenan Evans layup. Tech would carry a three point lead to the under four timeout. Tech guard Brandone Francis hit a three right out of the timeout, and it was all Red Raiders from there. Their lead was only six, but it felt twice that because of how close the game was.

PLAYER OF THE GAME

Texas Tech guard Keenan Evans led the Red Raiders to victory with 23 points on 6-10 shooting, including 1-2 from three point land. Evans also was a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line. Evans also contributed six rebounds, five assists, a steal, and a block.

Hey guys, my name’s Max Cohen. I’m a huge Arizona sports fan. I love the Wildcats, Diamondbacks, Cardinals, Phoenix Rising FC, and US Soccer. I also love Tottenham Hotspur and Borrusia Dortmund. I grew up playing baseball, basketball, and soccer, and hurting myself during all of them. I also play guitar. I love rock music. Some of my favorite bands are Bruce Springsteen, U2, The Beatles, Foo Fighters, and Dispatch. I’m a freshman at the University of Arizona. I’m majoring in a cool program that combines politics, philosophy, economics, and law. Talk to me about Arizona basketball and football because I never shut up about it.
