The Kentucky Wildcats will be returning some key places from this seasons team. Freshman point guard Quade Green is coming back to Kentucky for his sophomore season. There was a lot of speculation on whether he would declare for the draft, transfer or come back. Now that he’s coming back it looks like the team has it’s veteran point guard.
Why’d he come back?
Deciding on your future as a freshman is a huge decision to make. It determines what happens for the rest of your life, but no matter how old you are, mom always knows best. The key player in Quade coming back was his mother. Rumor has it that she was the one that told him he needed to come back to Kentucky for another year. Big Blue Nation thanks Quade’s mom on convincing him to return. Because of her it looks like we will have our starting point guard next season.
What’s this mean for other recruits?
Before Quade announced his return there was a lot of rumors swirling about possible recruits reclassifying to become the new starting point guard. From Ashton Hagans to Tyrese Maxey the rumors of coming to the 2018 class may have changed now. The team would love to have one of these guys reclassify but both would overload the guard spot on the roster. We’ll see what Hagans and Maxey decide to do in the coming weeks.
What’s Quade’s role?
As a returning player for John Calipari odds are Quade will be one of the oldest players on the team. Since he is returning and a key part to last seasons team my prediction is he will be a starter next season. This past season he started a few games but next year he should start every game. Averaging 9.3 points a game look for his number to improve as well.
Quade is going to be a huge piece of leading this team next season. Big Blue Nation get ready because he’s coming to lead this team to make a championship run.
