The final week of the 2018 NFL Preseason is here for the Denver Broncos as they head to Glendale, Arizona to face the Cardinals. This preseason finale will give the staff a clear idea on what the 53-man roster should look like to be competitive in the regular season. Teams have until 4 PM EST on Saturday to finalize their rosters.
With this on the player’s minds, there are quite a few guys that this impacts more. The leading candidate is obviously Paxton Lynch after he has had a disappointing start to his young career. However, Lynch still has a chance and will play in the second half in maybe his last audition with the Broncos.

He’ll need to ‘work his tail off’ if he even wants to make the team as the third string quarterback. Unless Chad Kelly is absolutely dreadful, Lynch will need to bring his best on to the field or Denver will release him. The team would ultimately explore options with remaining veteran quarterback still in free agency. But Lynch won’t be the only player with plenty riding on this game.
With the signing of cornerback Adam ‘Pacman’ Jones, there are a few players that are sweating in the secondary. Brendan Langley and rookie Isaac Yiadom will have their chances for the final cornerback position. Denver usually takes five cornerbacks on the regular season roster and Chris Harris, Bradley Roby, Tramaine Brock and Jones have four of those locked down.
There is always enough to watch during the preseason but these roster battles will be the most enticing. If Lynch doesn’t make the team and the secondary is porous, John Elway will disappoint a fanbase that wants to go back to its winning ways.
