Ohio State Football struggled this weekend against a Purdue program that is not historically great. It is going to be difficult for Buckeye fans to get over the loss this week because their chances of making the playoffs have taken a huge hit. Despite all of this, recruiting goes on, and Ohio State handed out another offer to a highly rated defensive back prospect out of Florida.

Buckeyes Offer Avantae Williams

Williams is a highly rated defensive back from Deland, Florida. He is a 4-star recruit who is ranked as the second-best safety in the class of 2020. He is also ranked 47th nationally. If the Buckeyes want to get him they will have to pry him from the state of Florida, however. Miami and Florida are the leaders with the most likely chance to get the safety.

Ohio State has a history of recruiting success in the state of Florida, however, and if anyone can pry Williams out of there it would be Urban Meyer. Williams is 6-0 and 175 pounds, which is a nice size for a defensive back. His game will transfer over to college well because he has great physical skill and the talent to be a star for a program.

Williams has what seems to be an endless amount of offers and will have a difficult decision to make regarding his football future when that time comes. He still has a little bit of time before he is going to have to make that decision though and that benefits the Buckeyes. Miami and Florida will have to keep a close eye on Ohio State as the 2020 recruiting cycle starts to heat up.
