While there were some who were unsure of how Bamba was going to perform when transitioning into the NBA, many figured that he would eventually be able to fit in.
When Bamba started off early in the season, his appearance was spotty; however, when Mo appeared for the first time against state rival, the Miami Heat, he ended the game with 13-points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks.
One memorable momentwas when he blocked Sixers’ Joel Embiid from scoring. It got many people in the league and in the fan-base talking, and jamming to ‘Mo Bamba’, a song by rapper Sheck Wes, a childhood friend who grew up with Mo in New York.
While this was great news for Magic fans, it all quickly came to an end when Bamba got injured.
Now Mo is healthy, and even participated in some of the Magic’s summer league games. This summer, Bamba performed excellently, showing signs of how his game is evolving and improving.
Currently, it has been noted that Mo has been working out with Drew Hanlen, a man who is notable on social media for working with NBA players in improving their skills and conditioning. For those not familiar with Hanlen, he’s worked with players such as Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kelly Oubre Jr., just to name a few.
Some websites and Instagram accounts have reported that Bamba has been working on improving his skills for the upcoming season, now that he has gained some weight and muscle. Obviously it’s too early to determine how Mo will impact the team, but one thing is certain, Bamba will be improved from last season.
