The Wolverines enter this weekend’s game knowing it’s the last time many beloved seniors and potential draft prospects will play at The Big House. Michigan will be going for their 10th consecutive win this season when they play in Ann Arbor against the Indiana Hoosiers.

The Hoosiers are coming in with an even 5-5 record and a recent win against Maryland. It was a close game, with Indiana winning by only two points with a final score of 34-32. The win was made possible with a 42 yard field goal competed late in the 4th quarter that put the Hoosiers ahead.

Last week, the Wolverines traveled to Piscataway, NJ to face the Rutgers Scarlet Knights on their home field. Shea Patterson threw three touchdown passes while running back Karan Higdon ran for two touchdowns. Heading into the second quarter tied 7-7, Michigan came back to score 35 points and seal a 42-7 win to continue to lead the Big Ten East.

If one were to compare the last 66 match-ups between Indiana and Michigan, Michigan leads with an outstanding 57-9 record. The Wolverines have not lost a game to the Hoosiers since 1988. This win will continue the win streak, making it 23 games since Indiana beat Michigan.

Although the spread is 28 and Michigan is favored to win by 96%, many are calling this a possible “trap” game. In the past three years the teams have faced each other, Michigan has not won by more than 10 points. The Hoosiers have put up a close game in years past, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they bring their best to Ann Arbor.

The pressure for the Wolverines to win this game is high. No. 4 Michigan is at the edge of the College Football Playoff rankings, and it will feel good to have a win under their belt heading into the last game of the season against their Ohio State rivals.

My name is Maddy Fri and I am a Communications and English Major at the University of Michigan. I was born and raised a Michigan fan, but only truly began understanding the sport of football during the Brady Hoke era. Still, I remained a true fan and am patiently waiting for Michigan to win a title (and beat OSU). I am, and always will be, loyal to the Detroit Lions – no matter how many times they don’t win a playoff game. Aside from my love for football, Michigan basketball and attending baseball games are a few of my favorite things. I’m excited to join the Armchair team and share my love for Michigan sports.
