Prior to joining the Orlando Magic, Michael Carter-Williams was a player going from team to team; however, this has ended once he joined the Magic.

Originally starting the 2018-2019 season with the Houston Rockets, another team that has made the post-season, Carter-Williams was eventually sent back to the Chicago Bulls, for him and cash considerations. Not to mention the fact that the Bulls also waived him too, with all this happening in January of this year.

Once Carter-Williams joined the Magic, reporters were curious on what he thought about the situation and they were able to get some insight during one of the Magic’s practice days.

One reporter asked Carter-Williams whether or not he saw working with head coach Steve Clifford, was a positive.

“Oh it’s great you know? It makes things a lot easier for me, knowing the coaches. Having a relationship with them definitely makes it easier for me to fit in,” said Carter-Williams. “And just to come in right away and already know some of the plays, defensive schemes, so I can come right in and be ready to go.”

Before Carter-Williams joined the team, the Magic one a home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, 120-91; however, once Carter-Williams joined the team, the Magic went on a four-game winning streak at home, beating teams such as: the New Orleans Pelicans and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Obviously, correlation doesn’t mean causation, but it could be argued that Carter-Williams joining Orlando has given the bench a much-needed boost to keep the club’s dream of making it into the post-season.

For those that weren’t too familiar with the specifics of Carter-Williams contract, he signed with the Magic for two 10-day contracts, as well as extending him for the remainder of the season. Allowing him to compete in the playoffs.

Once the playoffs began in Toronto, Carter-Williams was off to a great start, ending Game One with 10-points; however, as the series progressed, he slowly contributed less points. But he was able to contribute in other areas, such as: in Game Two when Carter-Williams led the team in rebounds with nine, and in Game Four with five assists.

While we currently don’t know Carter-Williams future with the Magic looks like, the fan-base is grateful that he was able to help get the team to the playoffs.

My name is Jonathan David and I am from a small town called Green Cove Springs, located in northeast Florida. Originally from Miami, Florida, my family moved up north, as I was entering the fourth grade. Once we moved, I eventually started getting into sports a lot more. I did soccer, basketball and running and pole-vaulting; however, the main sport that I pretty much keep up with is, basketball, specifically the NBA. Although I’ll occasionally watch track and field if it’s on ESPN. There were many reasons why I got into basketball, besides it looking like fun, one reason was because I wanted to be like Bugs Bunny from Space Jam, not Michael Jordan, but Bugs Bunny, and while my dream of being an animated character hasn’t panned out, I still enjoy playing and watching the sport. My favorite NBA team is the Orlando Magic, and I’ve been a fan since Lebron was in Miami, so when they eventually get good, people can’t say I’m a bandwagon fan.
