Since coming off a much-needed break from an exciting past two weeks, the recent acquisition of Markelle Fultz, Nikola Vucevic playing in the NBA All-Star game and the Magic winning the past five games prior to the break, the team was ready to continue on with the final quarter of the season.

The first game since the break was a home game in Orlando, in which the Magic hosted the Chicago Bulls, last Friday.

While the game went back and forth with each team battling for an edge of the other, in the end, the Bulls cam out on top with a one-point victory, with the final score being: 110-109 for Chicago.

It has been noted that the Magic could not consistently shoot their free-throws throughout the game, which is something that hurt them towards the end of the game. With the game against the Bulls over, the Magic flew to Toronto for an away game, the first of their two-game trip.

It was uncertain on whether the Magic would be able to beat the Raptors after suffering a heartbreaking lost at home; however, prior to departing to Toronto, during the Magic practice in Orlando, head coach Steve Clifford addressed concerns on how the Magic views the remaining season.

“You know, with a team like ours, I think they understand that we’re gonna have to play well every night,” said Clifford.

This statement ties in to the statement Vooch made weeks ago before the All-Star break, in which the team must play with a sense of urgency and purpose.

“This is it for us. Every game for us on the board is like a game seven. We don’t have any margin for error any more. This is it for us and this is our season,” said Vucevic. “So, we either show that we’re built to do this or not. So, we’ll see how we all react.”

And as the game progressed, it was clear that the Magic was a team that has improved since the beginning of the season, due to how they were able to consistently maintain a lead over the Raptors.

The final score of the game being 113-98 for the Magic.

The Magic will fly to New York to face off against the Knicks, before heading back home.

My name is Jonathan David and I am from a small town called Green Cove Springs, located in northeast Florida. Originally from Miami, Florida, my family moved up north, as I was entering the fourth grade. Once we moved, I eventually started getting into sports a lot more. I did soccer, basketball and running and pole-vaulting; however, the main sport that I pretty much keep up with is, basketball, specifically the NBA. Although I’ll occasionally watch track and field if it’s on ESPN. There were many reasons why I got into basketball, besides it looking like fun, one reason was because I wanted to be like Bugs Bunny from Space Jam, not Michael Jordan, but Bugs Bunny, and while my dream of being an animated character hasn’t panned out, I still enjoy playing and watching the sport. My favorite NBA team is the Orlando Magic, and I’ve been a fan since Lebron was in Miami, so when they eventually get good, people can’t say I’m a bandwagon fan.
