With a little under a quarter of the season completed, the Orlando Magic are starting to look like a team that may be able to compete in the post season, a feeling that has been absent since the 2011-2012 season.
And while the Magic have done well against teams that are projected to be in the playoffs, some have joked that the Magic would beat Philly and lose to Cleveland; however, the Magic ended up losing to both teams, resulting in the team having a record of 1-3 for their short trip away.
Following that short trip, the team then headed back to Orlando where they hosted the Dallas Mavericks, another team that hasn’t been doing too well.
While the Magic may have ended the game with an win, the overall score being 111-106, for Orlando, the fact that the Mavericks were able to chip away on the Magic’s lead was concerning, not to mention the fact that Dallas’ Luka Doncic was starting to gain momentum later in the game.
Some notes of the game include: guard Terrence Ross scoring the highest for the Magic, with 22 points, as well as Nikola Vucevic having the most assists, six, and having the most rebounds, 13.
Additional notes include: Vucevic scoring 20 points, meaning he had a double-double; sophomore Jonathan Isaac scoring 14 points and Aaron Gordon scoring 18 points, shooting 50 percent from the 3-point line.
The Magic’s next game will be a home game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Sunday at 6 p.m.
