After a statement win over South Carolina and huge recruiting weekend for Jeremy Pruitt and his Tennessee Volunteers. Jeremy Pruitt will be looking to add another key piece to the 2020 recruiting class.

Jay Hardy, a four-star strongside defensive end out of Chattanooga, TN, has set his commitment date for November 6. He will be choosing from his top four teams which includes: Georgia Tech, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Hardy, who has been a long time target of Pruitt and company, is a 6’4” 290 pound defensive linemen, who also plays Tight End for McCallie School, but is going to focus on playing on the defensive side of the ball when he goes to the next level. According to 247 sports, Hardy is the No. 5 strongside defensive end and the No. 113 overall prospect in the nation for the 2020 recruiting cycle.

Hardy, if he chooses Tennessee, has the opportunity to start right off the bat. Longtime Tennessee commit, Cooper Mays, has called for in-state prospects to band together and help make Tennessee football what it used to be. If Hardy picks Tennessee on November 6, Tennessee’s defensive line next year would get a huge boost and some much needed depth. With the addition of Hardy, Tennessee’s 2020 recruiting class would move up to No. 20 in the nation. After the loss of BJ Ojulari, who flipped his commitment from Tennessee and joined fellow Marietta teammate Arik Gilbert at LSU, gaining Hardy would help with that loss, and hopefully get Tennessee the momentum it needs to land some of its longtime targets.
