LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers are making their lone trip to Los Angeles this weekend and Lakers fans are making quite an effort to recruit James to the Lakers. Lakers fans have bought billboards around the city trying to convince James to join the Lakers but are these Lakers fans making a wrong decision?

The Cavs will be coming to LA as they take on the Clippers on March 9 and the Lakers on March 11. Just a couple of weeks after billboards in Philadelphia were posted trying to recruit James. Well, Lakers fans fired right back with billboards of their own. The Philadelphia billboards said to “Complete the Process” referring to the Process composed of the 76ers young players. The Lakers billboards said “#LEBRON” and “Forget the Process, We Win Banners”.

Maybe Not a Good Idea

If you mention the idea to a Lakers fan that they might get James they might scream and cry they would be so happy. But the more you think about it would LeBron to the Lakers be a good thing for the Lakers long term? Yes, LeBron would most likely make the Lakers a contender but is it good long term? The only real negative that can come out of LeBron joining the Lakers is the development of the Lakers young pieces. If LeBron joins the squad that will mean less playing time for guys like Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma and Julius Randle. Once LeBron is out of his prime, those are the guys who are running the team so do you want their growth to be stunted? If LeBron signs with the Lakers it will be very interesting to find out how the young players end up.

I’ve seen them at their highs and at their lows. Besides the Lakers, I am also a huge Dodgers, Astros and Seahawks fan. When not watching, reading or breathing sports I love playing basketball and soccer. Another activity I enjoy doing is giving back to my community.
