UPDATE – Upon Kruger’s release Monday morning from the Cleveland Browns, he is on the hunt for a new team to link up with. The 30-year-old pass rusher from Utah, drafted in 2009, had a standout year in 2014 that included 11 sacks and over 50 tackles but followed his 2014 campaign with only 2.5 sacks and 27 tackles in 2015. After three years with the Browns, Kruger was released but seems to still have interest with multiple teams in the NFL.
Payton confirmed that Paul Kruger will visit today #Saints— New Orleans Saints (@Saints) August 30, 2016
Kruger has set a visit with the New Orleans Saints for Tuesday and plans to meet with the Kansas City Chiefs after if he leaves NoLa without a contract. The Saints have been in need of a pass rusher opposite of Cameron Jordan for some time and with a season ending injury to Hau’oli Kikaha, their sophomore pass rusher, Kruger may be a solid fit for the Saints’ defense.
