With the conclusion of April, baseball has certainly gotten off to a fun start for the New York Yankees. They currently sit tied atop the American League East with a 15-8 record, one of the best in all the majors. There has been many reasons the for the Yanks success thus far, and majority of that has to do with just playing clean ball. Staying healthy is also a major key in winning ball games and the Yankees are nearly perfect in that aspect (knock on wood). From hitting to pitching and even laughing, the Yankees are doing it all from start to finish. I’m sure they don’t want to see the month go, but look forward to the opportunities the next one has in store.

One of the reasons the Yankees are having such success is their hitting. They’re living up to their nickname as the Bronx Bombers, giving fans a show just about every night. Just this past weekend the Yankees clocked in 11 homers in just about 28 hours. They love the deep ball and the home run has been one of the main sources of runs for them. Aaron Judge, the newly-found Yankee star has 10 home runs on the season already and four in his last five¬†games. The opportunities are endless for this man. Standing at 6’7″ and weighing in at 285 lbs, Judge is the main attraction at Yankees games and proves true to that with his dominant play.

The Yankees currently have 6 guys batting over .300, including Didi Gregorious who just returned off the DL. Since returning to the lineup, Didi is 7 for 15 and has had a couple of big hits thus far. Getting him back has made every Yankee fan happier, adding one of the best offensive weapons to this lineup on an already offensive heavy team.

Another man who has been hot hitting the baseball is Austin Romine. During Gary Sanchez’s absence, Romine has posted a .314 batting average. He has also shown he can be a starting catcher on any other baseball team. Its going to be slightly upsetting to not see Romine in the lineup everyday again. However, at the end of the day we’re getting The Kraken back in the lineup. Plus well have a starting caliber catcher coming off our bench. Can’t ask for much more than that.

Besides for the powerful lineup the Yankees currently withhold, their pitching has exceeded many expectations. Pitching has been one of the Yankees biggest question marks before the season and they sure have answered them. Tanaka, Sabathia, Pineda, Severino and Montgomery all pitch dominantly just about overtime they go out their. Tankaka is coming off a complete game shutout against Chris Sale and the Red Sox and Yankees starting pitching has been going to the 7th inning almost every time. Once they come out, the bullpen is usually lights out and the Yankees hold on to win games. This formula has been working and continuing to do it will give them lots and lots of wins.

One of the more important things that the Yankees have that there teams lack is energy. With all of the new young guys on this roster, the Yankees have energy and spunk (yes i just used the word spunk). They bring fire to their game day in and day out and never seem to give up. Just this past weekend they were losing to the Orioles 9-1 in the 7th inning and came back to win 14-11 in the 10th. That’s handwork and a very deserving win if you ask me. They never gave up and kept fighting until the end. It’s not over until the fat lady sings!

The young talent on this team is not only making fans excited for the future but them as well. They were expected to have a rebuilding type year with all the departures and additions but it sure doesn’t seem that way as of now. They have one of the best records in baseball and are tied for first in the best division in baseball. One month down, 6 months to go. New York has even clicking and playing baseball as a team. I see a very bright future for this squad and very very happy Yankees fans to come along with it.
