Everyone in the BBN is getting excited for Kentucky Football this year. Amidst all of that, the Basketball team is getting ready to head to the Bahamas!

Here’s what went down this weekend:

Kentucky Football finally had their Media Day

After much anticipation for the season from fans, Kentucky Football held their annual media day. There we saw Mark Stoops, Matt House, and Eddie Gran talk about everything from new schemes to the growth in size of the team as a whole. Each coach didn’t give too much away in strategy, saying things like “we won’t know until we play games” and “we’ll see who steps up”, but overall the vibe was very optimistic. We also heard some tough news with Josh Paschal being diagnosed with malignant melanoma. All of us in the BBN are praying for a speedy recovery!

The Cats held an open practice for all of BBN!

This was a great event for all fans to come out to and from the looks of it, everyone had a great time. We didn’t get much actual strategy (obviously), but we did get to see Terry Wilson and Gunner Hoak split the touches throughout the practice. This is another sign showing us that we have no idea who’s ahead in the race. Another thing we learned on Fan Day was that Benny Snell is officially the fan favorite. The line for his autograph ran out the door and deservedly so! He’s worked his butt off for this team and he should have another great season.

Kahlil Whitney spent the entire weekend in Lexington

The #19 overall player in the 2019 class spent all weekend visiting Kentucky, and of course, Cal pulled out a little trick to try and seal the deal. Isaiah Briscoe went to the same high school (Roselle Catholic in New Jersey) as Kahlil currently attends. Obviously, having that connection with a former Cat that went to the same high school as you is huge. Hopefully it gave Kahlil the extra push he needed to commit. 247 has Kentucky as a 93% favorite to land him, so it should be any day now.

That’s it for this week! Come back next week to get caught up on all of the Kentucky athletic fun!

My name is Tj Barnett and I am an avid sports fan. I grew up in Louisville, KY (don’t worry, I’d rather run my head through a thousand brick walls than be a UofL fan). Ever since I was 2 years old, I was rocking UK booties and mumbling the fight song. It was all UK basketball until I discovered the Cincinnati Bengals and the Reds in ’05 then the Miami Heat in ’06. Ever since then, I’ve lived and breathed sports! My Twitter account is where I avidly voice my opinion in relation to sports, and I’m always ready for a good argument.
