This weekend was a good one for the Cats as we found out some huge recruiting news for Kentucky Basketball.
Here’s what went down:
Ashton Hagans will officially join the 2018 recruiting class!
After months of speculation, Ashotn Hagans was able to finish up his high school career and graduate last week. This is huge news for Kentucky as this puts him in Lexington now and on the roster for the 2018-2019 season. Ashton is widely known as one of the best guards in the class, regardless of the year. With his defensive ability, expect him to get significant minutes next year.
Duke remains #1 in recruiting, for now…
This weekend the final RSCI rankings for 2018 basketball came out and it still has Duke as #1, but this ranking didn’t include the addition of Ashton Hagans to the 2018 class. So, I’m sure the RSCI will have to come out with a revised one that will likely put Kentucky above Duke in the rankings. This isn’t a guarantee, but when you have four 5-stars and one 4-star in the same class, it’ll be hard not to give it to the Cats.
There are 4 Cats projected to get drafted, according to ESPN.
ESPN just dropped their latest mock draft this weekend and they have 4 former Cats going in the NBA draft. Kevin was first at 9th, then Shai at 11th, Hami at 36th, and Jarred at 46th. Each of these guys have worked their butt off to increase their rankings. Jarred especially is getting more and more buzz and could continue to rise before the actual draft tomorrow night. Congrats to each of these players and good luck to them at the next level!
