Bring the noise
The stage has been set. One of the biggest games of the Mark Stoops era will take place on Saturday night in primetime on ESPN 2 at Kroger Field. The team will need the Big Blue Nation out in full force this weekend, this is NOT the game to stay home and watch on TV.
Mississippi State will come in ranked in the top 15 while Kentucky is barely on the outside looking in when it comes to most ranking polls.
Attendance at Kroger Field for Saturday’s 48-10 win against Murray State was approximately 48 thousand, which left about 13 thousand empty seats. It is imperative that those seats are filled with loud Kentucky fans for this game against Mississippi State so that it gives the home team any advantage possible. A win against the Bulldogs could transform Kentucky’s season into something special.
So start making your plans now! Get tickets, tailgating supplies, and rest your vocal cords for one of the biggest games in recent memory. Like Waka Flaka says, “It’s a party, it’s a party, it’s a party.”

The significance of this game is real
Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats football program have a chance to prove to America that they are a serious contender in the SEC. The team will also have it’s opportunity to show that ending the 31 year losing streak against Florida was not a fluke. Mississippi State is garnering attention from many people as one of the top defenses in the entire country, specifically stopping the run. The Bulldogs have only given up 255 yards on the ground all season. It is common knowledge that UK’s offense is widely predicated on establishing Benny Snell and the run game. So something will have to give. Whoever wins that battle will likely win the game.
This Kentucky – Mississippi State game is the biggest in program history. The only other game I can think of being this big is Kentucky – South Carolina in ‘07, and we know how that turned out 👀.

What does a win mean for the Cats?
If Kentucky can beat Mississippi State on Saturday night then split the next two games against USC and Texas A&M then we may have something really special on our hands. Starting off 4-0 with wins against both Florida and Mississippi State will show college football fans across the country that Kentucky football has taken a major step forward. Mark Stoops will no longer have to hang his hat on recruiting hype, coaching changes, or fan upgrades. This will be tangible and significant progress.
