Everyone knew this would be a crazy NBA offseason. However, when the fireworks began on June 15, it caught everyone by surprise all around the country.

We’ve heard countless rumors about the Kawhi Leonard situation with the San Antonio Spurs. Now, it looks like we have some clarity regarding the Leonard injury situation.

As reported by Shams Charania of Yahoo and Chris Haynes of ESPN, Leonard wants out of San Antonio. It is reported that he has grown uncomfortable with the Spurs and is ready to move on.

Thoughts on Kawhi’s situation

It’s not hard to remember Tony Parker’s comment to the media about Kawhi’s injury recovery process. Parker said his injury was 100 times worse than Leonard’s. That’s not something you say to the media.

The Possibilities

Also being reported in all this is that Kawhi’s preferred destination is the Los Angeles Lakers. This is where it gets very interesting for both sides involved.

With some trades and cap maneuvering, it remains a possibility that the Lakers could potentially have Kawhi Leonard, Lebron James, and Paul George on the same team. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves yet though.

The Philadelphia 76ers have also reported interest in Leonard. A trade to Philly would reunite Kawhi with former Spurs assistant Brett Brown. That could be very interesting from a play perspective for Kawhi.

Regardless, what a start to the NBA offseason. Let’s get to the trade machine.

My name is Matthew Carnahan. I’m a fan off mostly every sport that exists but the NBA has and will always be my favorite. Growing up I never really had a favorite team, I had favorite players. Those players ranged from Lebron James to Kobe Bryant to Steve Nash . I believe the NBA is the easiest sport to have favorite players in as it’s easier to build familiarity with them when they’re not wearing a helmet or mask. I’ve had a lifelong love for the NBA and it’s why i’m so passionate when it comes to covering it.
