Nick Broeker is a 2019 three-star offensive lineman from Sacred Heart-Griffin high school in Springfield, Illinois and could potentially be the next prospect to become a Kansas Jayhawk.

Broeker has been picking up a ton of offers lately, including ones from Kansas, Missouri, Michigan State, Purdue, Indiana and Cincinnati. Broeker visited the Jayhawks on Monday, Apr. 2, although he has also visited some other schools.

The thing that separates Kansas from the rest is Broeker’s family ties. His mother, Missy Broeker, graduated from Kansas, which could be a major factor when Broeker makes his decision.

There is no set date as to when Broeker will make his decision as he still has another year of high school left, but if he were to join the Jayhawks, he could make an enormous impact.

Broeker will likely improve in his senior season and could potentially push to become a four-star recruit. Broeker would also be joining Kansas at the perfect time, as most of its offensive line will be seniors in the 2019 season.

Broeker could push to become a starter his freshman season and would likely be the full-time starter his sophomore season. Broeker would also be only the second player to commit to Kansas for 2019 which could sway other recruits into joining the Jayhawks.

Broeker also played high school basketball which has only helped his cardio and footwork. With improvements in his senior season, Broeker could become one of the top guards for 2019 and could potentially become one of the Jayhawks’ biggest signings if he were to join them.

Throughout my childhood, I was never much of an athlete nor did I watch many sports. Although I participated in practically every sport you could think of, I was never good at any. Throughout high school I struggled with finding my passion, I never truly knew what I wanted to go to school for but I knew for a fact I wanted to be at the University of Kansas. Being a Jayhawk was a dream of mine since childhood and I never even considered going anywhere else. Finally, midway through my senior year of high school I found my passion, writing. I was in an English class where we wrote an autobiography and it was at that moment I knew what I wanted to become, a sports journalist. I graduated high school and eventually moved to Lawrence, Kansas where I now major in both Journalism and Sports Management. Despite never taking any journalism courses in high school, I have found my passion and my dream job. I love writing about all sorts of things, namely Kansas Football, basketball and I even do some writing about music. As I child I never expected to be where I am today, but now I hope to use ArmChair as a way to branch out into the world and make connections. For now, I hope to continue expanding myself and develop as a writer.
