With the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup coming up, many basketball fans are preparing to see if Team USA will be able to come home with the gold. However, in the meantime, we get to see teams Blue and White duke it out. One notable player from Team White, is Orlando Magic player, Jonathan Isaac.

Isaac, who has started to develop during the offseason has started to see significant strides. Examples of his progress include having a consistent 3-point shot, a much larger presence on offense and also being much more confident on the court.

When viewing his performance from the Blue versus White game, it’s easy to see that Isaac struggled a bit early in the first half. He made minor mistakes, but corrected them later when Team White was on offense.

What really changed things for Isaac during the game was his confidence. During the second half, he was able to play with more confidence. For example, Isaac was able to drain a three in transition. When Team White stole the ball, Isaac was on the break. He was able to create some quick space which allowed him to drain a three.

What is clear about this, is that if Isaac can stay like this for the regular season, his presence could help elevate the Magic’s position when the playoffs start.

Fortunately for Isaac, he is entering his third season. This means that he still has time to grow his game and gain muscle. Those are two things that many fans and commentators have noticed he has improved on over these past two seasons. Otherwise, if Isaac doesn’t show continuous improvement, some may feel that Isaac would be a player whose never reached his full potential.

My name is Jonathan David and I am from a small town called Green Cove Springs, located in northeast Florida. Originally from Miami, Florida, my family moved up north, as I was entering the fourth grade. Once we moved, I eventually started getting into sports a lot more. I did soccer, basketball and running and pole-vaulting; however, the main sport that I pretty much keep up with is, basketball, specifically the NBA. Although I’ll occasionally watch track and field if it’s on ESPN. There were many reasons why I got into basketball, besides it looking like fun, one reason was because I wanted to be like Bugs Bunny from Space Jam, not Michael Jordan, but Bugs Bunny, and while my dream of being an animated character hasn’t panned out, I still enjoy playing and watching the sport. My favorite NBA team is the Orlando Magic, and I’ve been a fan since Lebron was in Miami, so when they eventually get good, people can’t say I’m a bandwagon fan.
