During the short period of rest in between the Orlando Magic‘s game against the Phoenix Suns on Nov. 30 and then against the Miami Heat on Dec. 4, there wasn’t much news about the team.

During my search through websites such as Youtube, Twitter and Reddit, I came across a video of second-year player, Jonathan Isaac in a Geico commercial.

In the commercial, two runners are running near the Amway Center, and notice the Magic player “protecting the paint.”

And by protecting the paint, he is literally protecting a newly painted park bench, as opposed to the area near the goal.

As the commercial progresses, you see Isaac chant “Paint Paint!” followed by him either pushing passerby’s off to the side or him boxing them out.

At one moment of the commercial, Isaac is sticking his arm out, with his hand on a person’s head, stopping the person from moving any further.

The question is whether or not this commercial will be a national or local spot remains to be seen. It appears that the only way to view it is either through the official Magic website or on the big screen at the Amway Center.

There has been no word on if locals living in the Orlando area are able to view this commercial on their home TVs.

Shining light on good year

While the commercial is humorous it shows that, whether he’s on or off the court, Isaac isn’t afraid of protecting the paint at all costs.

So, if you’re curious about the types of people that Isaac has guarded against, that would include people ranging from all-stars such as Kevin Durant to everyday people.

My name is Jonathan David and I am from a small town called Green Cove Springs, located in northeast Florida. Originally from Miami, Florida, my family moved up north, as I was entering the fourth grade. Once we moved, I eventually started getting into sports a lot more. I did soccer, basketball and running and pole-vaulting; however, the main sport that I pretty much keep up with is, basketball, specifically the NBA. Although I’ll occasionally watch track and field if it’s on ESPN. There were many reasons why I got into basketball, besides it looking like fun, one reason was because I wanted to be like Bugs Bunny from Space Jam, not Michael Jordan, but Bugs Bunny, and while my dream of being an animated character hasn’t panned out, I still enjoy playing and watching the sport. My favorite NBA team is the Orlando Magic, and I’ve been a fan since Lebron was in Miami, so when they eventually get good, people can’t say I’m a bandwagon fan.
