Ohio State has always had some impact players through the years that did not play quarterback. Players like Ezekiel Elliott, Ted Ginn Jr, Michael Thomas and Eddie George. Let’s take a look at some players on offense that could make an impact for the Buckeyes in 2018.
Junior Wide Receiver K.J. Hill
K.J. Hill is a solid, sure-handed receiver who led the Buckeyes in receptions in 2017 with 56. Although his receptions could be down this year his touchdowns will be higher. Hill also may play a part in special teams along with Parris Campbell.
Sophomore H-Back Demario McCall
Demario McCall is a player that will have an impact on special teams. The Buckeyes have been lacking a solid punt returner since Jalin Marshall. McCall spent time this spring returning punts in practice and will take on return duties in the fall. It will be hard for head coach Urban Meyer to not find a spot on the field for an electric player like McCall.
Junior Wide Receiver Binjimen Victor
By far Binjimen Victor is the tallest wide receiver on the Buckeyes roster. In 2018 Victor will be quarterback Dwayne Haskins go to wide receiver in the red zone. With Victor being at six-foot-four, why not just throw it up and have Victor go one on one with a undersized defensive back.
Junior Tight End Rashod Berry
Rashod Berry caught a touchdown pass from Haskins last year. The very talented Berry has the size and quickness to make a huge impact in what could be an explosive offense. Berry was originally recruited as a defensive end then moved to tight end at the start of the 2017 season. Look for him to fill in nicely now that Marcus Baugh has departed for the NFL.
Sophomore Running Back JK Dobbins
J.K. Dobbins is an obvious choice. One of the most explosive running backs in country. Dobbins is a Heisman candidate after crushing the freshman rushing record in Columbus. It is feasible to believe that Dobbins, who will split time Mike Weber, will still lead the Buckeyes in rushing and rushing touchdowns. Now that J.T. Barrett is gone look for the Buckeyes lean heavy on Dobbins in the run game.
