Expect the unexpected.

You would think the Huskers would begin to learn that, what with Scott Frost and everything that has come since. Thursday afternoon was no different, as a surprise commitment from Ronald Thompkins II rolled in for the Huskers

Thompkins is a running back and wide receiver combo, much like Miles Jones in the current class. He’s electric with the ball in his hands and fits perfectly in the offense.

He is a three-star prospect out of Grayson High School in Georgia. Current Huskers Breon Dixon and Mohamed Barry also attended Grayson.

Thompkins suffered a torn ACL last season, but is supposed to be fully healthy for his senior season.

Thompkins had offers from a wide variety of schools, including Alabama, LSU and USC. He was previously committed to Florida State, but decommitted earlier this spring.

The Huskers are now up to nine commits in their 2019 class, with three of them coming at running back.

My name is Kade Dohmen and I am a student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I have been a member of Husker Nation since I can remember. Unfortunately my first experience at Memorial Stadium was ruined by Iowa State and eight turnovers, but that’s not important. It has been a long time coming since the years of Tom Osborne, but we have the guy now. Along with the Huskers, my fandom extends to the Los Angeles Chargers formerly known as San Diego, the Chicago Bulls, the Tampa Bay Rays and many others (I have a fan of a team in any league just ask). As always, Go Big Red.
