Every NBA team has rumors and the Los Angeles Lakers especially do considering they are in a big market and have the NBA’s best player on their roster.

A rumor that has been swirling around is a trade that involves Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. There was a report from Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer said that the Philadelphia 76ers were interested in the 25-year-old shooting guard. This season, Caldwell-Pope hasn’t shown the same production as last season. He hasn’t played as much as last year as he only is averaging 19.7 minutes per game this season. In that short amount of time, he is averaging 7.3 points per game, 0.5 assists and 0.6 steals. Caldwell-Pope already lost his spot in the starting rotation and will not have a role on the Lakers this season.

Therefore, this is why the Lakers should try to trade him. One player the Lakers could get in return for KCP is J.J. Redick. Redick is the 3-point shooter the Lakers need. LeBron James always plays well with good 3-point shooting and the Lakers currently lack a consistent 3-point shooter.

Bradley Beal

Another trade the Lakers could make is for Bradley Beal. Currently it was reported that the Washington Wizards are open to trading Beal. He is not on a bad contract and could fit well with the Lakers. The Lakers would have to part with at least one and maybe even two members of the young core of Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart. If the Lakers agree to a deal with the Wizards, it will be very interesting to see who they part ways with.

All in all, the Lakers have the opportunity to make deals so it will be an exciting time for Lakers fans.

I’ve seen them at their highs and at their lows. Besides the Lakers, I am also a huge Dodgers, Astros and Seahawks fan. When not watching, reading or breathing sports I love playing basketball and soccer. Another activity I enjoy doing is giving back to my community.
