Yesterday evening the match ups for the ACC/Big Ten challenge for the 2016-17 NCAA basketball season were announced, and Buzz Williams’ squad has a big time test early on in the season. The Hokies will travel to Michigan, as reported in a tweet sent out by Jon Rothstein.
Michigan will host Virginia Tech in next season's ACC/Big Ten Challenge, sources told @CBSSports.— Jon Rothstein (@JonRothstein) May 23, 2016
Michigan and Virginia Tech were both 10-8 in the Big Ten and ACC, respectively, last season. Virginia Tech finished 6th in the Atlantic Coast Conference in a rather surprising season to a lot of people around the country, while the Wolverines had a down year to their standards, finishing 8th in their conference.
This should be a fairly even match up and a good road test early on in the season for Virginia Tech.
