Final Scores
Game 1: Texas Tech 6 Duke 4
Game 2: Texas Tech 2 Duke 11
Game 3: Texas Tech 6 Duke 2
The Blue Devils gave Texas Tech all they could handle this weekend, but the Red Raiders came out on top. Timely hitting and strong pitching performances, Sunday not withstanding, gave the Raiders all they needed to make their third trip to Omaha in the last five seasons. The game was close the entire way, but Tech pulled away late for the win in the rubber match of the Lubbock Super Regional.
Josh Jung had quite the day, going 4 for 5 with a big time RBI late to give the Red Raiders some insurance runs. They will join the Texas Longhorns in Omaha, helping represent the Lone Star State. However, in my opinion, one is poised to make a strong run at a national title and one it’s not the team making it’s 36th appearance to the College World Series.
