The Michigan Wolverines were able to secure their top ten rank in 2019 recruiting with a pool of commits over the past several weeks. Most recently, four-star all-purpose back Giles Jackson declared his pledge to the Wolverines. Jackson was able to speak on his reasons to choose Michigan.

Q: What kind of relief have you felt now that your recruiting chapter is over with? Do you feel a weight is off your shoulders?

A: I have a huge relief knowing I don’t have to talk to a whole bunch of different coaches everyday and I can just focus on my season and talk to Michigan coaches.

Q: You were down to Michigan and several Pac-12 schools, so there must have been something for you to want to go halfway across the country for school. Can you explain a little about that?

A: Just the great coaching staff, the constant communication, and the opportunity to play early.

Q: Lastly, how does it feel to be a Michigan man, and what type of legacy are you looking to leave at there? What do you want the fans to know about you?

A: It feels great to be a Michigan man! It’s a great school to be apart of, I want to leave a legacy at U-of-M where everyone knows about me, and to show people size doesn’t matter in the game as long as you’re getting the job done.

I would say to tell the fans I’m more than excited to be apart of the program and grow and I’m only 16 years old.

Jackson joins Michigan’s 2019 class as the tenth four-star recruit, and it will be interesting to see how Harbaugh and his staff will utilize his playmaking ability once he arrives on campus.
