The Georgia baseball team continued to stay red hot in the Athens Regional on Sunday. The Dawgs defeated Troy 11-7 in a Sunday afternoon game. Keegan McGovern and Michael Curry led the Dawgs to victory by tallying four RBIs each.

Georgia now moves on to the regional championship game on Monday at 1 p.m. EST to play Duke after the Blue Devils defeated Troy on Sunday by a score of 15-6. Georgia has yet to lose in regional play.

Because of the regional’s double elimination format, Georgia would actually get another opportunity Monday evening in a second game against Duke to win the regional if the team loses the 1 p.m. game. It’s simple: one Georgia win tomorrow makes the Dawgs the Athens Regional champions.

If the Dawgs can find a way to win on Monday, the team will move on to the super regionals portion of postseason play.
