On Saturday, for the first time ever, Boise will play host to a UFC Fight Night card (main card 10 p.m. EST on FS1). UFC Boise will be headlined by a heavyweight fight matching No. 7 contender Junior “Cigano” Dos Santos (18-5-0) and Blagoy “Baga” Ivanov (16-1-1, one no-contest).

Dos Santos has gone 2-3 in his last five UFC appearances, his most recent fight being a loss to the recently unseated UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic in UFC 211.

Dos Santos last won in April 2016 in the main event of UFC Fight Night Zagreb on FS1 over Ben Rothwell.

Ivanov has gone 5-0 in his last five MMA appearances, his most recent victory coming last November in PFL Fight Night Washington’s headliner against Caio Alencar. Saturday evening’s headliner marks Ivanov’s first UFC appearance.

Prediction: Dos Santos is a tough fighter, but Ivanov is a former Heavyweight champion in the World Series of Fighting. I like Ivanov to win by decision on Saturday night.

As far as Saturday’s prelims go, a rescheduled women’s strawweight contest between Jessica “Jag” Aguilar(19-6-0) and Jodie Esquibel (6-3-0) will take place on the Fight Pass prelims.

This match was intended to initially take place during the Fight Pass prelims of UFC Utica on June 1, but was canceled by the New York State Athletic Commission due to a medical problem with Aguilar.

In all, seven prelims will take place on Saturday night.

Other fights on the UFC Boise main card:

“Super” Sage Northcutt (10-2-0) vs. Zak “The Barbarian” Ottow (16-5-0) [Welterweight, co-main event]

Dennis “The Menace” Bermudez (17-8-0) vs. Rick “The Gladiator” Glenn (20-5-1) [Featherweight]

Randy “Rudeboy” Brown (10-2-0) vs. Niko “The Hybrid” Price (11-1-0, one no-contest) [Welterweight]

No. 12 Featherweight contender Myles “Fury” Jury (17-2-0) vs. Chad “Money” Mendez (17-4-0) [Featherweight]

No. 6 Women’s Bantamweight contender Cat “Alpha” Zingano (9-3-0) vs. No. 7 Women’s Bantamweight contender Marion “The Belizean Bruiser” Reneau (9-3-1) [Women’s Bantamweight]
