The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded RHP Jose De Leon to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for 2B Logan Forsythe.  De Leon, 20, was signed by the Dodgers in the 24th round of the 2013 MLB draft for $35,000.

He went 7-1 with a 2.61 ERA and a WHIP of 0.94 in Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2016.  Forsythe, 30, is coming off of a season where he hit for a .264 average with 20 home runs and 52 RBIs.  The deal comes as a bit of a surprise as the Dodgers were rumoured to be interested in Twins second baseman Brian Dozier, as well as Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler.

  1. Seems like the normal philosophy of the Dodgers. Try and out hit everyone, doesn’t work. Lose every game big game Kershaw doesn’t pitch.

I’m interested to see what Rich Hill can do in a full season for the Dodgers.
