The Georgia Tech football team took a huge blow today as rising sophomore running back Dedrick Mills was dismissed from the team. The reason cited for the dismissal was a result of Mills breaking Georgia Tech athletic department rules.
Mills played a large role in the Georgia Tech offense as only a true freshman. He rushed for 771 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2016, and he was bound to have an even larger role in 2017.
This is not the first time that Mills has faced trouble at Georgia Tech. In 2016 Mills missed a total of three games due to suspension, so it seems that this is the final straw.
Now the Yellow Jackets must find a new centerpiece for their offense only a few weeks before the season starts.
